On Saturday, January 26th over 20 members
of the Greater Fort Myers Area MSU Alumni Club participated in delivering food to seniors living in Lee County for
Senior Friendship Centers of Lee County. We delivered to over 53
households from Alva to downtown Fort Myers. The smiles on the faces of the people we served left all
of us more humbled. All of us were glad we took a half a day out of our lives to
serve the community we live in.

For those who did not know, Senior Friendship Centers serves seniors that run short on cash toward the end of the month and cannot afford to buy food until they receive their next social
security check. The food bags help them get through this period.
At the end of the event, we pledged to Senior Friendship Centers of Lee County that Michigan State will take the month of January as our month to deliver food on an on-going basis. Go Green!
